Mykita Fashion Eyewear
Handcrafted designer frames by Mykita of Germany, are the Berlin born brainchildren of Moritz Krueger, Philipp Haffmans, Daniel Haffmans and Harald Gottschling. Mykita was founded in 2003, in a former children’s day nursery, from which the name Mykita was derived. Kita, being short for Kindertagesstätte, or children’s day nursery. The founders released the first Mykita designer frames in 2004, Collection No 1, a line of handcrafted, award winning, stainless steel frames.

Mykita Collections
The Mykita eyewear brand has developed several collections since the company’s inception, such as Collection No 2, a colorful and stylish eyewear created with acetate material composed of cotton and pigments; Decades – a contemporary rendition of the most loved fashion from the 20th century with styles reimagined from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s; stainless steel, yet lightweight frames of the Lite collection; a unique, award winning line of fashion eyewear developed especially for Asian faces with design ideas derived from East Asian cultures called Mint; Mylon eyewear, a lightweight, yet durable material created specifically for sporting glasses and sunglasses, a material which has won the iF Material Award, and Red Dot award; and Mykita First, a scratch resistant children’s eyewear line featuring unisex models for children eight years and up.

The visionaries of Mykita Haus have collaborated with the likes of Maison Margiela, Damir Doma, Bernhard Willhelm, and Palm Angels, combining materials, shapes, and function to produce edgy, innovative and in demand frames, confirming Mykita’s creative force in the designer eyewear world.

Mykita’s award winning frames have for years gained recognition from the German Designer Club, MunichExpo Veranstaltungs GmbH, Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen, the International Design Award, German Design Council, Art Directors Club for Germany (ADC) , iF International Forum Design GmbH, Good Design Award Japan, Industrial Designers Society of America, and the German Ministry of Economics and Technology.
